We have heard the good news that the two women (one Dutch, one German) who were imprisoned in Holland for alleged mink liberation have both been released! The two women were both very hungry upon their releases as they didn't get proper food inside and so a big vegan meal was awaiting them!

Carrie Feldman, an activist from Minneapolis, MN, who were subpoenaed to a federal grand jury in Iowa investigating animal rights vandalism from 2004. She is refusing to cooperate with the grand jury, and is in jail now for civil contempt of court.

Another Dutch activist has been remanded regarding allegedy being involved with mink liberation, she can not receive letters at the moment and we have no address for her, more details soon.

GOOD NEWS! SHAC 7 prisoner Jake Conroy has been released from federal prison to a halfway house in the Bay Area.

Jake sends his thanks for all the support while he was inside, please don't forget about his co-defendants Lauren Gazzola and Kevin Kjonaas who are still inside prison and all the other prisoners.

Unfortunately, it has been reported last week that a woman was caught during a mink liberation in south Holland, near the German border. She has been remanded, only the address is known at the moment. Please write letters to her. These can be sent to the following address, where they will be forwarded onto her at the prison:

We have received information that Dean Cain's prison number has changed, his new number is: A9457AF. His address stays the same: HMP Preston, Ribbleton Lane, Preston, Lancs PR1 5AB.

We have received a letter from Natasha saying her prison number has changed, her new number is: A5180AD. Her address stays the same: HMP Send, Ripley Road, Woking, Surrey GU23 7LJ. Please note all prisoners' numbers will be changing, as the prison service are bringing out a new numbering sysytem.

John Smith asks to be removed from all AR prisoner listings. We have received a letter from John Smith asking to be removed from all prisoner lists and magazines, he has reached a point in his sentence where he feels it's the right time to do this. He has very much appreciated the letters and support he has had.

GOOD NEWS! After serving nearly 16 months in prison. Sean Kirtley was found not guilty at his appeal and has been released.

Dean Cain was remanded today and has gone to HMP Preston, Ribbleton Lane, Preston, Lancs PR1 5AB. His parole license has been revoked after he was involved in an incident. Although the incident was not related to campaigning, he is in effect in prison for the original offence, which was for "offences" in connection with Highgate Rabbit Farm, which breeds
rabbits and ferrets for vivisection, including supplying HLS. Please send letters/cards of support to him as soon as you can.

Approximately 3 weeks ago William "BJ" Viehl had his bail revoked and was taken back into custody. Prosecutors allege BJ had communicated with ALF/ELF prisoners, in violation of his bail terms. He expects to remain in custody until his trial.

And approximately one week ago, BJ's co-defendant Alex Hall also had his bail revoked and was taken into custody.

John Smith has a new prison number. It is now: A4228AC but his address is still: HMP Lindholme, Bawtry Road, Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster, DN7 6EE. Many prisoners will be getting new numbers, as a new number system is put in place. We will keep you updated.

Heather Nicholson was moved today without warning, she's being transferred today to Eastwood Park in Gloucester, but tomorrow she's then being moved again to HMP Foston Hall in Derbyshire. Jordan Halliday has now been federally indicted with felony contempt of court. He was released on bail today. This charge carries no maximum penalty. If he is convicted at his trial, Jordan could be facing even more jail time, at the judge's discretion. More info at: http://www.supportjordan.com/

Dean Cain and Luke Steele were granted bail today, but sentencing of them and another co-accused will be on Friday 5th June. On Friday 8th May, Vikki the other co-defendant who had gone to trial had the case against her stopped by the judge with no case to answer.

Following on from news on the 11th April, we've just received the news that a second female activist has been arrested today for alleged mink liberation in March, more information to follow.

US activists Kevin Olliff and Lindy Greene were arrested Thursday, 16th April. They have both been remanded and their next court date is May 22nd, more information to follow.

A Dutch activist has been remanded to prison in Rotterdam for alleged mink liberation in March. Also, some Mexican activists need solidarity and help with defence funds. See the bottom of the Current Prisoners page for more details.

Dean Cain has moved to HMP Nottingham, Perry Road, Sherwood, Nottingham NG5 3AG and Luke Steel to HMP & YOI Glen Parva, 10 Tigers Road, Wigston, Leicester LE18 4TN today after pleading guilty to SOCPA 145 (trepass). Their trial will start at the end of April.
