Good news - Jonny Ablewhite, Kerry Whitburn and John Smith were released on Friday, 30th September after serving
6 years of the 12 year sentence they got in relation to the Save the Newchurch Guinea Pigs campaign. There have really appreciated the support they have had.

ALFSG has learnt that five Danish men were arrested in April 2011 accused of a variety of activity including attempted arsons against some fur stores.  We don't have any names or addresses for the five, but if anyone has any details about the five please contact the ALFSG.  For those who can read it, here is an article in Danish about the charges

New prisoner - Justin Solondz is currently awaiting trial in Seatac, Washington. He is being accused of actions under the Earth Liberation Front/Animal Liberation Front. Briana Waters, his former comrade and friend turned informant, will be testifying against him this September. Justin is likely to be facing many, many years in prison. More news soon. Former prisoner, Briana Waters was released on 16th October 2010 on Bail after an appeal reversed her conviction. But was later facing a re-trial. But on Tuesday, 28th June she made a plea agreement with federal prosecutors to cooperate and provide new, useful information including tesifying against her former boyfriend Justin Solondz. Twelve animal rights activists were arrested on Wednesday, 22nd June by the Spanish police, in a series of raids sanctioned by the judge from the Magistrate’s court, Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. Arrests and house searches of activists from the organisations Igualdad Animal/Animal Equality and Equanimal took place in the regions of Madrid, Asturias, Vizcaya and Galicia. The detained activists were then taken to Santiago de Compostela court, where they were accused of offences against the environment, public disorder, and conspiracy. For more information:

He would like to get mail and his birthday is April 16th. He does not think he'll be there longer than a few weeks. He is still in solitary confinement, locked down for 23 hours a day M - F and 24 hours on Sat & Sun. He was told it's because he is in a security threat group. He is working out a lot. He is receiving vegan food.

New prisoner - Jonathan Pollak, Hermon Prison NSWing, PO Box 4011, Maghar 14930, Israel.

On Tuesday, 11th January 2011. Israeli vegan animal rights activist and member of anarchists against the wall Jonathan Pollak was sent to prison for 3 months for cycling too slowly during a critical mass demo against the bombing of Gaza by the Israeli military forces, this caused him to breach a suspended sentence which now finds him in jail.

He would greatly appreciate letters of support but can receive nothing else, no stamps, ircs, magazines, etc. You can write to him through the following email address (letters will be printed and passed on to him):
