Good news - Victor VanOrden was released from prison after a successful parole hearing after only serving 3 months of his original 5 year sentence. He and his wife Kellie (who was living in Iowa waiting for him to be released) have found their way back to Maryland where they will reside with Victor's family. Thank you everyone for all of your wonderful support, loving letters, and financial generosity. Victor and Kellie are extremely grateful to everyone who thought about them while they were inside, and showed their support in one way or another.

Kellie Marshall has been released after her (relatively) brief sentence for cutting fences and releasing one mink at the Circle K Fur Farm in Sioux City, Iowa.
Her codefendant (and husband) Victor VanOrden received a vastly greater sentence of five years for the same incident. In Iowa, first time “offenders” serve approximately 50% of their sentence. Victor’s sentencing judge also indicated she may consider resentencing Victor to less time, though this is not guaranteed.
The Circle K Fur Farm was first raided in 1997. 5,000 mink and 100 fox were released in that action.

On Friday, 3rd February, the Director of NIO (negotiationisover.net) Camille Marino was arrested at a vivisection protest and funeral for monkeys killed in University of Florida’s “research” labs.
Camille was not told why she was arrested, but since has found out that vivisector Donal O’Leary is personally paying for her to be extradited to Michigan, where she is considered to be a fugitive because of a warrant issued related to Negotiation is Over displaying his home address: http://www.negotiationisover.net/?s=donal+O%27leary

Victor VanOrden was sentenced to 5 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in Woodbury County District Court (USA) to releasing an animal from an animal facility and attempted third-degree burglary (even though no mink were released and there was minimal damage).
Kellie, his wife is scheduled for trial March 6th, 2012. Donations for legal fees are now needed more than ever! More news soon.

Viktor Padellaro was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for arson at a McDonald's in Gothenburg, for smashing windows at a restaurant he believed to be serving shark-fin soup, and for sending allegedly threatening letters to fur store owners, AstraZeneca employees and others involved in animal abuse. Viktor has been detained on remand since his arrest in August 2011.
Note: ALFSG are aware of Viktor's past links to fascist groups. Viktor has released a statement in which he expresses shame at his former association with fascists. We are convinced that Viktor is being truthful about his change of heart. We believe that people can change for the better. But individuals can make their own decision on whether to support him or not.

Twelve animal rights activists were arrested on Wednesday, 22nd June by the Spanish police, in a series of raids sanctioned by the judge from the Magistrate’s court, Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. Arrests and house searches of activists from the organisations Igualdad Animal/Animal Equality and Equanimal took place in the regions of Madrid, Asturias, Vizcaya and Galicia. The detained activists were then taken to Santiago de Compostela court, where they were accused of offences against the environment, public disorder, and conspiracy. On Tuesday, 11th January 2011. Israeli vegan animal rights activist and member of anarchists against the wall Jonathan Pollak was sent to prison for 3 months for cycling too slowly during a critical mass demo against the bombing of Gaza by the Israeli military forces, this caused him to breach a suspended sentence which now finds him in jail.
